Baked Chicken Breasts-Week 7

Hi guys! So I came across this recipe when I was looking for something to do with chicken after I found out we had no flour to make breaded chicken. No, chicken is not all I eat and write about !  We always have chicken around because we freeze our chicken so that we can make it for lunch or dinner when it's a busy day and we don't have time to cook a full on meal. Also I wanted to say that I am trying to write these blogs more consistently for you guys!!!! Enough talking..... Lets get to it !!!!!

Ingredients:
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 Tablespoon melted butter or olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
**** I have to say that this seasoning is spicy so if you do not want spicy you can really use any seasoning*****

This is such an amazing trick, I just have to share this with you all

Here's a little background information about brining :
  • It adds flavor and keeps meat tender and juicy
  • The definition is : to soak in or saturate in salt water
Here are some different types of brining you can do :
  • Wet Brine
  • Dry Brine
  • Buttermilk Brine
  • Brine before you fry
Directions:
  1. To brine your chicken fill a large bowl with warm water and 1 teaspoon of kosher salt
  2. Stir to combine the salt until most of the salt is absorbed
  3. Add the chicken breasts and let them sit in the mixture to brine for 15 minutes or you can cover the bowl and refrigerate for up to 6 hours.
  4. Remove the chicken breasts and pat dry with paper towel when ready to use .
  5. Preheat oven to 450 degrees
  6. Place the chicken breasts in a single layer in a large baking dish .
  7. Brush both sides (turning once) evenly with the melted butter or olive oil
  8. In a small bowl stir together the pepper, garlic powder and paprika until combined .
  9. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the chicken on both sides.
  10. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until no longer pink.
  11. Remove from the oven and loosely cover the pan with aluminum foil.
  12. Let the chicken rest for at least 5-10 minutes
  13. Then serve immediately

Now let me tell you this chicken is super moist and delicious !!!!
